April Whole Foods Plant Based Potluck

Event Details

Greetings! Join us for our monthly plant-based potluck! All are welcome to attend our event. We come together on the second Friday of each month to eat healthy plant-based food, to gain support from each other, to learn more about the benefits of plant-based nutrition and most of all to have fun!

We have a guest speaker this month! Lauren Larson, from Shaw Cancer Center, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who will speak with us about “Plant Based Diets and Cancer Prevention” Her presentation will include American Institute for Cancer Research top 10 lifestyle changes for cancer prevention while tailoring it to a plant based diet and discussion of plant-based proteins.

Potluck: Please bring a vegan dish to pass! In keeping with the true “whole food plant based” meal philosophy, we encourage you to bring dishes that are oil-free and low in sugar and salt. Please bring a copy of your recipe to set out next to your dish! In an effort to reduce waste and cost, we ask that you bring your own plate, silverware, napkins and water bottle (or beverage of choice.)

Please sign up early as space will be limited to 50 people. We look forward to seeing you!

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE MEETING IN A NEW LOCATION! The potluck/presentation will be held on the second floor of the 216 Main St. building which is located above Starbucks in the Riverwalk. You can park next to Starbucks and then enter on the side of the building by highway six. Then, walk up the steps or take the elevator to the 2nd floor. We will have a sign and/or person waiting at the door to direct you.
